While Etna is typically associated with Carricante, Andrea Franchetti has chosen instead to work with Chardonnay, inspired by the great white wines of Burgundy. The grapes grow in the high lying contrada Guardiola, between 850 and 1,000 meters in altitude, on steep terraces in loose, powdery volcanic soil rich in minerals. The extreme terroirwith high light intensity,
